ETFC Fall League Plan
ETFC has decided that the health and safety of our players is our top priority and we do not believe it is safe to travel extensively at this point. In lieu of OYSA’s traditional league, we have established the following competitive play plan for our players:
- In house 7v7 league. The coaching staff will create a number of 7v7 teams in each age and gender group and we will then have 4 specific weekend dates on which we play 7v7 games. Smaller sided games are an important developmental tool for players to get as many touches as possible, quickly respond to transitions, and have quick access to scoring goals and defending goals. Our objective will be to create balanced teams to allow for competitive games.
- Full size games against compatible ETFC teams. In these games, the club will find appropriate opponents within the club. For example, U11 Premier plays U12 Comp team. Or U11 Premier boys will play U11 Premier girls. These games would also be played over 3 weekends locally.
- We have already talked to Bend Timbers, Capital Timbers, and Rogue Valley Timbers to potentially play a few games outside of our clubs. We have currently set up two games in this format. We reduced the number of games against other clubs and communities to two spread apart by several weeks to again ensure the players’ health and safety.
For all those games, we will establish specific COVID19 game protocols for players, referees, coaches and spectators. We will publish those guidelines as soon as possible. We will be able to allow 1 spectator per player during those games to comply with both the Governor’s and facility rules. Spectators will have to remain socially distant and wear a face mask. We will provide guidelines before the first game.
Here is the current calendar to play those games:
