Eugene Metro Fútbol Club (EMFC) provides programs for boys and girls soccer players from age 4-18. The introduction and exploration of soccer happens in Little Metro program for players age 4-10 (pre-K to 4th grade). For 3rd and 4th grade (7-9 yr olds) players who are more committed and want to join a year round program, they can enter the Junior Academy program. At the end of the 4th grade players can tryout for a U11 competitive team. Every year in May EMFC offers tryouts for its U11-14 teams and programs. After the 8th grade the calendar for soccer changes slightly. Tryouts for U15-19 teams and programs are typically in mid May. Teams will practice through summer and then play at their respective high schools before resuming club soccer in mid November and compete in Winter league until late April/early May.
Little Metro Program
For ages 4-10
Please contact LT director Aden Farina-Henry with questions about the Little Metro program at: littlemetros@emfc.org
The Eugene Metro Fútbol Club provides a number of opportunities for very young players to develop a love for the game of soccer.
During these early years, EMFC focuses its program on teaching basic technical soccer skills to improve each individual player. Players will apply these skills in small sided games to enhance their understanding and their passion for the game of soccer.
The Little Metro program offers a 6 week spring and fall training program that includes a 5-week game schedule. In the summer Little Metro offers a 4 week summer academy and in the winter a similar 5 week academy indoor without games. Little Metro players can also register for the popular spring break camp or other camps offered throughout the year.
Junior Academy
For invested 3rd & 4th graders
Overseen by Porter Garrison-Terry, the Junior Academy is our development and soccer training program for focused 3rd and 4th grade boys and girls (7, 8, 9 year-olds). These youngsters display a desire for an elevated level of commitment and competition to their soccer. The Academy may also be open to younger players who meet the demands and standards of our program. Our intent is to provide a competitive but not exclusive environment for these developing youngsters. The annual calendar is organized in 4 training phases (summer, fall, winter, and spring). Outdoor league play takes place in fall and spring in our Valley Academy League against teams from Salem, Corvallis, Eugene, Bend and surrounding areas.
