Born, raised and educated in the Basque Country (Northern Spain), Iñaki played at youth level in the historic club of Arenas de Getxo (one of the Founding members of La Liga) and started helping his dad (former professional player) coaching U17-U19 Teams. Iñaki continued playing soccer at the club level and in community college while completing his graduate studies in the U.S.
As a coach, Iñaki brings a wealth of soccer experience across many different levels. In the U.S., Iñaki has led and/or been a member of coaching staff with high school, club soccer, former development academy, ECNL and college. After spending a year at the University of Virginia women’s soccer program as a Video Analyst and Operations Assistant, he is currently an Assistant Coach at the University of Oregon women’s soccer program. Iñaki keeps his relationships with Spain and has been a member of the Santutxu FC U19 Boys, competing against La Liga teams such as Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad and Osasuna. Currently he is supporting 3rd Division pro team SD Deusto as Video Analyst.
In Eugene, he has coached at Marist HS and South Eugene HS, as well as at Eugene Metro FC: from 2016-2019, the Rovers and Valencia Boys U16, U17 and U19 teams.
