Premier Teams U15-19

About this program

Eugene Metro FC seeks to provide an organized, meaningful, and exciting soccer experience for each of our Premier team players and teams.

EMFC continues to develop our older players in all soccer pillars (Physical, Technical, Tactical and Psycho-social) but now the emphasis shifts more towards the tactical part of the game. We want to develop confident and proactive players who enjoy a passion for the game. In addition, we believe in the core values of commitment, community and confidence.

Player Selection

There will be an annual tryout in May. Players will be selected in their birth year. The tryout is an initial selection process that coaches over the course of the season continue to ensure that players are placed in the appropriate environment for their development. Teams in this age group will play 11v11.

Program Calendar

In the summer, we will train 3 times per week with appropriate breaks in the summer. Training sessions will be two 100 minutes sessions and one 90 minutes session. We will make individual team based tournament schedules that will include out of state competition and showcase tournaments.

During the fall, these age groups will play soccer for their respective high schools. We will form teams for the U15 age group in the fall, for those players who still remain in middle school. All U15-19 Premier teams will resume club training in mid November with 3 training sessions per week. The Premier boys will play in ECNL Far West League and the Premier girls will play in the Girls Academy League, both national platforms. The older teams have different College Showcases required by ECNL or Girls Academy to attend.

Program Objectives

The Premier Teams trains 3 times throughout the year. The coaching staff follows a progressive curriculum to provide learning opportunities and challenges for all players. Travel commitment is for 2 summer tournaments, 1 in Oregon and 1 in Washington. League play for girls Premier teams is in Oregon and Washington, while the Premier boys play in ECNL which is in Oregon and Idaho. Teams will individually attend 1-3 Showcase tournaments over the season.
